THE BLUE CHAIR CAFE
With 80 seats, a scratch-kitchen, and live music, the Blur Chair Café is an Edmonton favorite. Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner the Blue Chair serves an eclectic and exciting menu of dishes that are sure to please.
During the day, a bank of large south-facing windows allow plenty of sunshine and make the Blue Chair a great place to grab a quick breakfast, work away from the office for a few hours, or have a business meeting. Come lunchtime, check out our sandwich feature and help yourself to the soup and salad bar.
Weekends see one of Edmonton's most popular brunch destinations come to life with live jazz, bluegrass, or folk for Sunday brunch. Expertly prepared Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Benedict, with our own twist, await those that join us early in the day on weekends.
On our visit, the restaurant was bright and warm, with sunbeams streaming in through the windows, and what can only be described as a really great vibe. It was filled with the happy chatter of a bustling restaurant, and the mellow strains of some Hawaiian-flavoured music as part of the restaurant’s Sunday jazz brunch. By the time the coffee arrived, life was perfect.

Dinner time sees an ethnically-inspired and authentic menu with fresh ingredients tickle the palettes of Edmonton. With live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, the Blue Chair is a excellent way to spend an evening out, either for a romantic escapade or with a group of friends. Be sure to check out our extensive back bar with a wide range of scotch, bourbon, and tequila.
Every one of the 80 seats has an excellent sightline to the stage. Half of the room is on an elevated floor, and the tables at the rear are taller, allowing for an excellent view from wherever you sit. Acoustics are excellent everywhere in the room, even from the seats at the bar.
The decor is colorful and decidedly bohemian. But don't let that fool you, the food is world class. Our kitchen is passionate about its "from scratch" nature, and our ethnic dishes are true to form. With a menu inspired by Harold's world travels and a stage that sees some of the best artists from across Canada and around the world, the Blue Chair is sure to provide a memorable evening out. Authentic, fresh food, and live music.
